Save Graythwaite

The Greens are campaigning with the local community to protect the heritage values of the Graythwaite site in North Sydney by keeping it in public hands.

The Greens will move to bring in legislation to maintain the Graythwaite estate in pubic hands and to stop the NSW government's proposed sell off to the private school Shore for $35.2 million.

GraythwaiteThe fight to save Graythwaite estate is certainly not over. There is a CFMEU Green Ban on the site and in the NSW parliament the Greens' Save the Graythwaite Estate Bill is ready to be debated.

The campaign is based on the Greens' successful bill to Save Callan Park in 2002.  Once again we will make every effort to maintain this glorious estate in public hands where it belongs.

The Greens private members bill will provide the legal protection necessary to preserve Graythwaite for future generations and honour the intention of the original owners who had a long term commitment to rehabilitation.
